Stephen & Christina Young opened Young's Swim School at Chisholm in February 2000. The initial attendance was approximately 90 children. By 2003, there was a need to expand to another site to help cope with the demands. It was in this year that we purchased the Kambah branch (previously known as Oliver's Swim School). At the end of 2008 we decided to re-structure the Kambah pool so that we could combine both swim schools into the one complex.
We felt this would not only help us to provide our customers with an even better service, but also enable us to better streamline our program. We have grown over the years, and 2011 has seen us expand into the unit next door with the construction of a purpose built 11m x 9m teaching pool. This has allowed us to segregate our beginner levels from our more advanced levels giving all classes more space for learning and comfort. We pride ourselves on our commitment to customer service, and in providing quality swim instruction in a safe and fun environment. Our years of experience has eventuated in Young's Swim School now being known as one of the premier swimming schools in the ACT. Our qualified instructors provide quality swimming instruction to kids in Canberra through a structured series of lessons and classes. We cater from water familiarization and safety lessons for infants through to squad preparation for our older students. Many of our swimmers go on to enjoy competitive swimming at local, state, national and even international levels.
Young's Swim School is a proud sponsor of the Woden Swim Club! The Woden Swim Club was established in Canberra in 1971 and has grown to become one of the largest and most successful swim clubs in the region. Woden Swim Club swimmers have been successful in various Australian state and national events, and also internationally (including Athens 2004 and Beijing 2008). |
